Binani in serious trouble as Adamawa PCC accuses her of diverting N250m campaign funds

The ambition of senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani to succeed governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in March 2023 may hit a brick wall over serious concerns raised by the state chapter of the presidential campaign council less than a week after she commenced campaign in the state.

A source in Adamawa State PCC told our reporter that the enthusiasm which greeted the commencement of the APC guvernorship campaign has started waning as a result of the myriad of controversies that trail the guvernorship campaign train.

Our reporter observed that the current rivalry between the campaign train and PCC may prove costly to Binani as the state chapter of PCC under former deputy governor of Adamawa State, Martins Babale may develop cold feet towards the ambition of Binani for diverting and pocketing N250m she allegedly collected from the PCC in Abuja.

Feelers from Adamawa state PCC told our reporter that currently Adamawa APC guvernorship campaign train is swimming against the tide and facing internal rejection by members of the party over the selfish attitude of the guvernorship and her disrespectful stance towards a large section of members of the party.

Some of the members of Adamawa PCC told our reporter their resolve to teach the APC candidate a bitter lesson for her untoward and disrespectful conduct towards them.

"We shall pay back Binani in her own coins for humiliating and shortchanging us. We will show her that betrayal attracts serious repercussions.

"As it is now Binani is treating us like outcasts and doing whatever she can to undermine us and the ambition of our presidential candidate. That is why she diverted the N250m given to her for the presidential campaign into her personal purse and using the fund to campaign only for herself.

"Binani should know that despite her shenanigans and betrayal, we shall endure and will use our personal resources to work for our presidential candidate and ensure that he emerges victorious in the forthcoming presidential election," a source in the PCC who does not want his name in print confided in our reporter.

In another vein, some state party officials have also lampooned Binani for shortchanging them in the distribution of the presidential campaign funds.

A member of the exco who does not want his name in print said the guvernorship candidate is treating them with so much contempt at a time she need them to work for her victory.

The source told our reporter that out of the N250m Binani collected from the PCC, she gave the APC exco only N3m and diverted N247m for only God knows what.

"It is the height of injustice for Binani to give the party secretariat only N3m out of N250m. But we want to counsel the APC candidate to note that the era of slavery has passed. We shall never allow anybody to take us for a ride. A word is enough for the wise," the source told our reporter.
